About Us

WE’VE MADE IT!
THE REEF YOUTH & COMMUNITY CENTRE OPENED IN SEPTEMBER 2016The Reef Youth & Community Centre officially opened in September 2016 after 10 long years of fund raising and a two year build project. We had lots of set-backs on the way but with the help and support of so many charities, organisations, councils and the hundreds of local people who took part in fund raising events and made donations we achieved our goal of opening a fabulous facility for the whole community to use.

A PLACE FOR OUR YOUNG PEOPLE
The Reef Youth Club is open 3 evenings each week during term-time for young people age 10 – 17 years, from school year 6 upwards. Young people living in Colehill, Wimborne, Corfe Mullen and surrounding areas can join the club where they can enjoy a variety of organised activities, chill out with their friends, watch a film, play games, make music and lots, lots more. The full club time-table is available with details of the start dates and times for each year group. The club will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

A PLACE FOR THE COMMUNITY
The Reef Youth & Community Centre is the centre of our community, available for clubs, societies and groups to meet together on a regular basis in this fabulous building. The building is on two floors with a large open “sports” hall on the ground floor and a spacious first floor hall with a TV room, IT station and full commercial kitchen for patrons to use. It is the perfect venue for children’s parties, discos, dances, band-nights and charity events as well as a place for people to come together to learn new skills, take part in an exercise class or brush up on the latest IT.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?
We often need help to run the centre and if you have some spare time and would like to get involved, please contact us. The Youth Club provides a safe space for our young people to meet up on a regular basis. If you have a youthful outlook on life and have some spare time and could help our young people develop valuable life skills we would love to hear from you. (DBS checks essential).

THIS IS YOUR BUILDING AND TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE IT A HUGE SUCCESS!
Unbelievably it is 10 years since committee members of the Reef and Wimborne Youth Club got together and floated the idea to rebuild the Reef. Through thick and thin these stalwarts formed a limited company with charitable status and persisted in raising funds to knock down the old flat roofed caretaker’s bungalow adjacent to St Michael’s School and replace it with a two storey purpose built building.
Fund raising is never easy and it was particularly gratifying to know we had secured sufficient funding to turn our vision into a reality. However, it's an on going project and we have to constantly find innovative ways to raise funds to secure the future of the centre and most importantly, the Youth Club.
